Compliance

Protection from economic crime – we need your help!

Every second German company is threatened by economic crime. Just recently a series of cases has become publicly known.

The Commerzbank Group makes comprehensive provisions to ensure that neither customers nor employees become victims of or accessories to fraudulent actions, and that products and processes cannot be misused to further fraudulent activity.

With our corporate values, we are committed to the principle of conduct based on integrity in our dealings with each other and with our customers. We therefore emphatically advocate preventive anti-fraud measures in all areas. This means being open to information and giving customers, employees and third parties the chance to draw our attention to possible fraudulent conduct.

Reporting suspicions online

Investigations show that information from third parties frequently leads to the clarification of acts of economic crime. For years now the Commerzbank Group too has been relying on time-tested reporting and contact channels, for instance via the Compliance or Audit departments. In addition we have set up a system through which customers, employees and third parties can also report suspicions online at any time. It is the internet-based BKMS (Business Keeper Monitoring System).

If you would like to report a suspicion via this system, you can decide whether you want to mention your name or not. Since we seek open communication with customers, employees and third parties, we would encourage you to state your name when reporting suspicions. Please also create a mailbox for yourself in the system in case there are any queries. In each case we shall treat your data as strictly confidential.

The system serves only to draw attention to suspected acts of economic crime at the bank. Abuse thereof for other purposes may constitute a criminal offence.

Of course there is still the possibility of approaching the Compliance and Audit departments, as well as any other trusted contact persons, directly.

You can report your suspicion here (in German):

Zero tolerance attitude

Commerzbank’s Code of Conduct documents our commitment to act in an ethically and legally correct way. Everyone of us is required to be guided both by the „ComWerte“ as well as legal guidelines and internal directions in our daily work. Being compliant with legislation and regulation and our internal directions goes without saying for us! CommerzFactoring‘s management acknowledges Commerzbank’s Code of Conduct and the zero tolerance policy, which means that they do not tolerate fraudulent and other criminal offences, prosecute detected criminal offences and, , implement preventive measures in this respect. For a long time Commerzbank has committed itself explicitly to not tolerate fraudulent or other criminal offences in their group, prosecute detected criminal offences following the priciple of „zero tolerance“ and implement preventive measures in this respect.
